Gomez Hitless, Stopped by Swamp Foxes Tuesday, June 3rd, 1997 The Savannah Swamp Foxes clamped down on Chris Gomez and put a stop to his hit streak. He went without a hit, ending the run at 29 straight games, but it didn't keep the Suns from winning. Jacksonville downed the Swamp Foxes 4-1. "It was bound to happen," Gomez said with a shrug after the game. A look at his season totals shows Gomez with 4 home runs, .345 BA, .410 OBP, 28 RBIs and 42 runs scored. |
