Season Possibly Over for Wayne Kirby
Thursday, June 5th, 1997
The season is apparently over for Wayne Kirby. The Idaho Falls Chukars medical staff informed the club that the right fielder will be out at least 6-7 months with a ruptured medial collateral ligament. Kirby was hurt in the game against Salt Lake City while running the bases. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
Kirby's current batting average stands at .317 and he has chalked up 2 home runs and 27 RBIs.
