Buffalo's Stairs ATL's Best Monday, June 9th, 1997 The votes have been tallied and the winner of the Atlantic Player of the Week has been named. It was awarded earlier today to Matt Stairs for his great week at the plate. The Buffalo left fielder took home the trophy by banging out 14 hits in 31 at-bats for a .452 batting average, driving in 11 runs and scoring 8 times. For the season Stairs has hit .335 with 19 home runs and 64 RBIs. He has played in 63 games and scored 63 times. |
