Nied Twirls Swamp Foxes to Shutout Victory Monday, June 9th, 1997 David Nied of the Savannah Swamp Foxes humiliated the Bluff City Beasties at Paradise Grounds today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 7 hits. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Bluff City manager , after the game. Nied whiffed 11 and walked 0 in the 9-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Nied said. "I was making good pitches the entire game." Presently Nied has a 6-1 mark in 9 starts with a 3.43 ERA.
