Jaime Bluma Out for Season
Tuesday, June 10th, 1997
Jaime Bluma of the Tarantulas just might have to call it quits for the season. The 25-year-old Tucson reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Omaha Storm Chasers recently at Maples Stadium. Bluma suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Tarantulas medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 6 months.
Bluma has made 24 relief appearances this year and notched no saves. To date in 33.2 innings he has a 1-0 record, 4.01 ERA with 38 strikeouts and 8 walks.
