Mieske Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Thursday, June 26th, 1997 Matt Mieske of the Omaha Storm Chasers tagged 2 hits in today's 6-4 loss to the New Orleans Brass at Maples Stadium to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Matt Mieske flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 10th. This season Mieske has hit 17 home runs and posted a .320 batting average. |
