Pitcher of the Month Named in PAC Tuesday, July 1st, 1997 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Kerry Ligtenberg, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Portland Stag reliever, 26, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .167 average and walked away with the Pacific Pitcher of the Month award for June. Ligtenberg posted a 2-0 mark and a 0.77 ERA in 12 relief appearances. In 11.2 innings, he had 8 saves, 10 strikeouts, and 3 walks. Ligtenberg has 20 saves in 34 relief appearances this season with a 3-5 record and 4.32 ERA. |
