A battle-tested Jerry Willard declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 35-year-old Tucson catcher collected the Pacific Player of the Week Award.
He wrapped up the week with a .571 average, 12 hits in 21 at-bats, 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
A look at his season totals shows Willard with 4 home runs, .346 BA, .402 OBP, 15 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
