River Rats Roper Gone for Year
Tuesday, May 2nd, 1995
John Roper has to call it a season. The Spokane River Rats starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Salt Lake City Buzz and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Roper was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 10 months.

Checking out his stats for the season, Roper has racked up 2 wins and 5 losses in 8 starts, 3.74 ERA and struck out 29 batters in 45.2 innings.
