Benitez Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, May 23rd , 1995 Yamil Benitez of the Asheville Moonshiners extended his hitting streak to 20 straight games with 2 hits in today's 2-1 triumph over the Rochester Red Wings at Torrance Grounds. "Yamil has been making it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup every day," Moonshiners manager joked after the game. Yamil Benitez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 7th. Currently Benitez is batting .324 with 69 hits and 6 home runs.
