ATL Star of the Week Announced Monday, July 14th, 1997 So far in his young career, Rich Aurilia has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Atlantic in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 25-year-old Rochester Red Wings shortstop hit at a torrid .478 clip as he collected 11 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Thus far this year Aurilia is batting .319 with 10 home runs, 73 RBIs and 49 runs scored. |
