Missions Halt Smith's Hit Streak Sunday, July 20th, 1997 Dwight Smith had his hitting streak snapped at 20 games today during a 9-3 Idaho Falls win over the San Antonio Missions at Texans Stadium. The 33-year-old left fielder was hitless in 6 at-bats. "Had to end sometime," Smith said, shrugging. So far on the season Smith is hitting .333 with 14 home runs, 74 RBIs and 75 runs scored. He has 139 hits and played in 100 games. |
