Blue Crabs Mattingly Named ATL's #1 Player Monday, July 28th, 1997 A veteran of baseball wars, Don Mattingly knows how to stay with a stroke that's working for him. The 36-year-old first baseman for the Blue Crabs batted .464 last week on his way to the Atlantic Player of the Week award. His noteworthy week also featured 13 hits in 28 at-bats, 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and 5 runs scored. In 1997 Mattingly has hit at a .366 clip with 48 hits, 7 home runs, 31 RBIs and has scored 21 times. |
