Hit Streak Now at 20 for Hocking
Tuesday, July 29th, 1997
The Naperville Lazy Fisherman fell to the Spokane River Rats in Ballpark of Milton today, even as 27-year-old left fielder Denny Hocking upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Hocking finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Lazy Fisherman from dropping the 4-0 decision.
"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Hocking. Denny Hocking singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
To date this season Hocking is hitting .306 with 2 home runs.
