Tarantulas Chill Hocking's Hot Streak
Friday, August 1st, 1997
The Tucson Tarantulas pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Denny Hocking hitless in 5 at-bats during the club's 8-6 victory over the Naperville Lazy Fisherman at Ballpark of Louisville. The disappointing performance ended a 22-game hitting streak for the left fielder.
"I'm a little down right now," Hocking said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
So far this year, Hocking is batting .303 with 2 home runs and 55 RBIs.
