Leftwich Holds Nashville Scoreless Friday, June 16th, 1995 Phil Leftwich of the Round Rock Express spun his magic on the Nashville Sounds today. He blanked them 14-0 on 8 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and no walks. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Leftwich said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Round Rock skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Phil pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. On his stats sheet this season Leftwich shows a 8-5 record, 16 starts, 111.1 innings, 70 strikeouts and a 3.80 ERA.
