Luebbers on Top of His Game Sunday, June 25th, 1995 Today was Larry Luebbers's turn in the rotation for the Hartford Whalers and he made the most of it, shutting out the Brooklyn Cyclones on 7 hits. The 25-year-old right-hander led the Whalers to an easy 14-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 5 strikeouts. "I hope we miss him next time," Brooklyn manager said. "Luebbers certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds." Luebbers has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 5-11 record with a 8.68 ERA.
