Bisons Chill Walton's Hot Streak Saturday, July 15th, 1995 It was a doubly miserable day today for Jerome Walton of the Hartford Whalers, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose 8-3 to the Buffalo Bisons at Aspinwall Grounds. The 30-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Bisons. "Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Buffalo manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Walton is batting at a .383 pace this season, picking up 51 hits in 133 at-bats with 2 home runs, 21 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
