ATL Honors Asheville First Baseman Monday, July 24th, 1995 Oreste Marrero burst onto the Atlantic stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie first baseman for Asheville garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy. The 25-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .462 (12-for-26) with no home runs and 6 RBIs last week. This season Marrero has hit at a .355 clip with 73 RBIs, 15 home runs and 82 runs scored. He has played in 106 games. |
