Turner on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle
Monday, July 31st, 1995
Some days, a great game just isn't enough.
Chris Turner of the Walla Walla Warriors found that out the hard way today. Turner had a great day at the plate, pounding out 4 hits in 4 at-bats and hitting for the cycle, but watched the Tucson Tarantulas take a 9-8 victory.
"It is a frustrating feeling to know you did so much and still lost," the 26-year-old catcher said later. "But it is a feeling you have to get used to if you want to play baseball for very long. It just happens."
Turner had 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run, as well as 4 runs batted in and 4 runs scored in the contest.
Chris Turner tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Eric Hillman in the 9th.
This season Turner is hitting at a .241 pace with 6 home runs, 58 RBIs and has scored 42 times.
