Marrero Cops ATL Batter of the Month Honors Tuesday, August 1st, 1995 Oreste Marrero put together a good July to earn the Atlantic Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Asheville officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Moonshiners first baseman posted a .425 batting average with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 30 runs scored. So far this season Marrero is batting .363 with 17 home runs, 78 RBIs and 93 runs scored. He has 168 hits in 463 at-bats, 60 walks and a .438 OBP. Marrero has played in 114 games. |
