Atlantic Picks Best Starter in July Tuesday, August 1st, 1995 30-year-olds don't often go 5-0 in and haul away the best pitcher award, but Steve W Sparks did all that. Now, he's the toast of the Atlantic. Today he was crowned the Pitcher of the Month for July. In 6 starts he posted a 2.40 ERA and struck out 29 batters in 45 innings. In 23 starts this season Sparks has compiled a 17-3 record and a 2.87 ERA. |
