Greer Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Friday, August 4th, 1995 With 1 hit at Wolves Ballpark today, Rusty Greer added another game to his hitting streak -- the Danville left fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Dairy Daddies today, as they fell, 5-0, to the Hartford Whalers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Hartford manager said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Rusty Greer singled in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th. So far this year Greer has 9 home runs and a .396 batting average. |
