Due to a clerical oversight, veteran pitcher Orel Hershiser was not properly released into the free agent pool at the start of free agency. This error has now been corrected, and Hershiser has officially been added to the available free agents. His player page can be viewed here: Orel Hershiser.

The league acknowledges that multiple teams have already submitted bids and signed players during the early stages of free agency. However, given Hershiser’s age and performance in the prior season, we do not believe his late entry will significantly alter the competitive balance or impact any team’s current offseason plans.
