Federal League Rookie of the Month – Nomar Garciaparra (Chicago Cubs)
Chicago shortstop Nomar Garciaparra continued to impress in his first season, capturing the Federal League Rookie of the Month Award. The 23-year-old hit .308 in August with 11 home runs, 30 RBIs, and 22 runs scored, providing a spark at the top of the Cubs lineup. United League Pitcher of the Month – Andy Pettitte (Washington Senators)
