Senators Stymie Baltimore, Take 4-1 Win

The Washington Senators got a good effort from starter Andy Pettitte in defeating the Baltimore Orioles at Memorial Stadium. The final score was 4-1. In 7.1 innings, Pettitte surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 6 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Mark Wohlers notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
The Senators got a lift from catcher Mickey Tettleton who had a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning off Jose DeLeon. It was his 13th home run of the season and put Washington in front, 3-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Tettleton after the game.
The Senators have an impressive 56-35 record.
