Arizona pitcher Mike Harkey gave the Orioles all they could handle, but in the end, Baltimore left Bank One Ballpark with a 8-6 win. Harkey allowed no earned runs on 1 hit over 5 innings. The 5th-place Orioles are now 43-57, the Diamondbacks 52-50.

Gruber said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
