White Sox Clip Marlins in Tight Contest
|
The Chicago White Sox electrified Comiskey Park with a thrilling, walk-off win.
The White Sox faced a stiff challenge from Florida pitcher Chris Nabholz, but persevered to claim a win at Comiskey Park. The final score was 4-1. Nabholz went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Chicago reliever Jeff E. Gray picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Bryan Harvey shouldered the loss.
The White Sox got a big boost from left fielder Mark Carreon who had a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning off Marlins hurler Bryan Harvey. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put Chicago on top, 4-1.
"This place was rocking at the end," Carreon said.
Chicago is last in the Federal League Central Division with a record of 44-57.
