The Dodgers grabbed a win, 4-3, at Memorial Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Baltimore pitcher Jose DeLeon. DeLeon went 9 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Ricardo Rincon was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 27 save opportunities. Los Angeles is now 62-56. Baltimore is 50-65.

Los Angeles used the bat of Rafael Palmeiro to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Los Angeles manager Dave Ginter.
