Knights Bang Out 9-5 Win Versus St. Louis
|
St. Louis right fielder Karim Garcia had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Garcia went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2, even as Charlotte beat the Cardinals, 9-5. Garcia was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Knights keep rolling, raising their record to 9-5.
Lenny Dykstra had a big 2-run double for the Knights in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Charlotte leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Jay Tibbs and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 4-0.
"We'll savor this win," Dykstra told the Charlotte Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
