Cardinals Lose to Rangers, 6-4
With first baseman John Kruk leading the charge, the Texas Rangers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-4, at Busch Stadium. Kruk, who finished 4th in the UL in on-base percentage with .365 in 1992, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. David West earned the win for Texas. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 1-2. The Rangers are off to a tough start, getting just their 4th win in 13 games.

Texas used the timely hitting of John Elway to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rangers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll build on this win," said Kruk.
