Expos Trip Dodgers in Extras
|
Montreal starter Ed Correa had a strong outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Montreal reliever Kent Mercker picked up the win, upping his record to 5-6. Allan Anderson took the loss. The first-place Expos have won 4 in a row.
Late-game drama came in the top of the 15th inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Gregg Jefferies, hit a single. It helped Montreal seize the win.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Montreal manager David Polakoff.
