Devil Rays Shut Out by Appier
Kevin Appier of the Florida Marlins humiliated the Orlando Devil Rays at Joe Robbie Stadium today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 6 hits.

"He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Orlando manager Ben Tennyson, after the game.

Appier whiffed 11 and walked 1 in the 21-0 win.

"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Appier said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."

This year Appier has a 15-8 record with a 2.74 ERA.
