Still Kicking: Colorado Cut Seattle Series Lead to 3-1 With Late Win
The Colorado Rockies nearly wasted a strong game from starter Curt Schilling, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 10th inning walk-off win over the Seattle Pilots today.

Schilling was named player of the game in the 6-4 win at Mile High Stadium, after he threw 7 innings allowing 4 runs. The win allowed Colorado to cut the Seattle lead in the best-of-7 series to 1-3.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Colorado left fielder Juan Gonzalez, facing Mike Henneman, had a 2-run home run. It gave the Rockies the 6-4 win.

"I felt good up there," said Gonzalez. "I saw the ball well."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Denver. Slated to start are Todd Van Poppel for Seattle and Al Leiter for Colorado.
