Suns Lose, 8-5, at Aspinwall Grounds

Ozzie Timmons did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Jacksonville Suns from losing, 8-5, to the Buffalo Bisons at Aspinwall Grounds. Timmons went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Buffalo reliever John H. Doherty picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Clint Sodowsky was saddled with the loss. Buffalo, now 5-3, has played well in the early going.
With runs few and far between, the Bisons had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Buffalo came in the bottom of the first inning, when right fielder Eddie Zambrano delivered a 2-run double. The double was hit off Clint Sodowsky and made the score 2-1, Bisons. Zambrano went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Zambrano told the Buffalo Times.
