Suns Stay Hot, Beat Red Wings
|
Jacksonville Suns starter Eric Nolte turned in a top-notch performance against the Rochester Red Wings at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. The result was a win for the Suns, 7-2. Nolte went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-1. Jacksonville, now 7-3, has played well in the early going.
Jacksonville needed the clutch hitting of Steve Buechele to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Suns on top, 4-0. For the game, Buechele had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Buechele.
