Victory Over Suns Takes Buffalo to 7-4
|
Buffalo and Jacksonville duked it out at Aspinwall Grounds and the Bisons came out victorious.
The Buffalo Bisons bested the Jacksonville Suns by a score of 8-5, with center fielder Manny Martinez getting the main credit. On the day, Martinez was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Bisons. Brad Radke earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 5 earned runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.
Enrique Wilson hit a 2-run double off Jack McDowell in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Bisons in front, 6-4. In addition to the double, Wilson had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"I felt good up there," said Wilson. "I saw the ball well."
The Suns fall to 5-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 1997 season.
