The Buffalo Bisons easily defeated the Asheville Moonshiners, 13-1, at Aspinwall Grounds, with right fielder Eddie Zambrano a main contributor to the win. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for Buffalo. Mike Williams got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and no runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The hot start continues for the defending champion Bisons, who took their 11th win in 15 games this year.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Manny Martinez muscled up and hit a 2-run home run. It put Buffalo ahead, 2-0. For the game, Martinez was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
