The Ocean City Blue Crabs powered past the Rochester Red Wings, 11-5, at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. Manny Alexander went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, to lead the charge. Dave Mlicki got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 0. Rochester, at 0-16, is off to a dreadful start in 1995.

A key moment came with one out in the top of the fifth. That's when Blue Crabs center fielder Jarvis Brown hit a changeup from Rich Scheid for a run-scoring single, putting Ocean City up, 4-2.

Brown said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
