Red Wings Walk Off with Win
|
Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Rochester Red Wings and the Asheville Moonshiners.
The Rochester Red Wings topped the Asheville Moonshiners by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Quinn Mack. Mack was 3-5 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Red Wings on the day. Rochester reliever Jim Pena picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Greg Hibbard took the loss.
The Red Wings got a big at-bat from designated hitter Derek Hines. For the game, Hines went 1 for 4 with a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 20th hit of the season gave Rochester a 6-5 lead.
"I like our resilience," said Hines.
The Moonshiners, now 11-12, have been consistent this season. Consistently bad.
