The Columbus Clippers easily defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 14-1, at Mules Ballpark, with right fielder Derrick May a main contributor to the win. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Columbus. Carlos Pulido picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-2. The Clippers bumped their record to 14-11 with this latest triumph.

An important at-bat for Columbus came with two out in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, May hit a 3-run home run, which contributed to the Clippers win.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Rochester manager . "We got flat-out beat."
