Bisons Continue Skid Thanks to Abbott, Whalers
The Hartford Whalers defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 16-3, in Atlantic action at Wolves Ballpark, with Hartford shortstop Kurt Abbott named player of the game. Chris Holt, who went 9 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 11 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 3-2. The Whalers, now 17-8, know that wins in April count the same as wins in September.

Alex Ochoa was a prime contributor to the Hartford win. He went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the third with one out, the 25-year old right fielder hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Whalers.
