Twins Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Cubs
The Chicago Cubs got a superb performance from third baseman Scott Brosius, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 7-5. Brosius was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Rob Dibble earned the save, his 4th, for the Twins. The win takes Minnesota to 8-8.

The Cubs had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Twins going into the top of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the five-time All-Star Kal Daniels came to the plate. Daniels hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 fastball from Chicago hurler Tim Burke. It was Daniels's 3rd double of the year.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Daniels.
