Red Wings Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Brooklyn
Brooklyn left fielder Dwight Smith was sensational. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Rochester beat the Cyclones, 8-5. Smith was named the player of the game despite the loss. Even with the win, the Red Wings have a dismal 5-28 record.

The Red Wings got a big at-bat from center fielder Johnny Damon. For the game, Damon went 1-5 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 5th double of the season gave Rochester a 4-1 lead.

"It feels good to get this one," Damon told the Rochester Times.
