Suns Blast Red Wings
|
Suns shortstop Chris Stynes put his stamp on his team's 12-2 win over the Rochester Red Wings. Stynes went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Jacksonville in the contest. Bill Pulsipher got the win, improving to 8-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. The Red Wings, now 5-37, have lost 9 in a row.
With Jacksonville leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Stynes hit a 3-run home run off Rochester hurler Shawn Barton. It was the 1st home run of the season for Stynes and put his team ahead, 6-0.
"If it's down the middle," said Stynes, "you might as well hit it."
