Otero Helps Suns Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Jacksonville Suns relied on the hitting of center fielder Ricky Otero to stop the Rochester Red Wings, 8-6. For the game, Otero went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 4 times. Trevor Wilson, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Rochester is in the throes of a 10-game losing streak.
Jacksonville grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Ozzie Timmons delivered a bases-clearing triple, to make it 8-6 in favor of the Suns.
In postgame comments to the Jacksonville Today, Otero said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
