Jacksonville center fielder Damon Buford was instrumental in his team's 5-3 win over the Buffalo Bisons. Buford went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Suns. Mike Morgan got the win, improving to 6-1. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The Suns raised their record to 21-23.

Buford came through with some timely hitting for Jacksonville. With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the third and no one down, Buford hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season made it 2-0, Jacksonville.
