Red Wings Continue Skid Thanks to Smith, Swamp Foxes
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Mark E Smith, the Savannah Swamp Foxes defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 16-4. Smith was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Swamp Foxes. Rochester's current losing streak has reached 19 games.
Savannah relied on the hitting of Paul Carey to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Swamp Foxes on top, 5-4. For the game, Carey had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Rochester manager .
