Whalers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Bisons
The Hartford Whalers defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 8-6. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Matt Stairs, who went 3-5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win was Mark Petkovsek's in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Chris Peters took the loss for Buffalo. The Whalers own a robust 42-15 mark.
