Red-Hot Vitiello Scorches Bisons
|
Today at Stags Ballpark, Joe Vitiello put on an impressive display.
The Milwaukee Otters left fielder tagged Buffalo pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Buffalo Bisons by the score of 12-6.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Vitiello said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Otters manager was unwilling to offer his left fielder much praise, saying he holds his "whole roster" accountable for losses.
"Joe told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager said.
Joe Vitiello singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Williams in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.\n
This season Vitiello is batting .273 with 49 RBIs, 52 runs scored and 10 home runs.
