The Rochester Red Wings beat the Columbus Clippers, 4-3, at Mules Ballpark. Rochester third baseman Scott Sheldon earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Tom Urbani picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-7. He struck out 2 in 6 innings. At 29-39, the Red Wings find themselves in 5th place in the Atlantic Northeast.

Sheldon had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Osvaldo Fernandez, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Red Wings a 4-3 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Sheldon.

"I was a little disappointed," said Columbus manager . "We could've and should've scored more runs."
