Bisons Turn Back Red Wings, 7-5
|
The Buffalo Bisons picked up a win at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale, knocking off the Rochester Red Wings, 7-5. On the mound for Buffalo was right-hander Dennis Springer, who played a pivotal role in the win. The last-place Red Wings have lost 7 straight games.
The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Tim Fortugno didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Rochester trailing 7-5, Fortugno retired Joel Tanner to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Fortugno, with a wink.
